 This is a late 5th instar larva (a prepupa) and has not begun to go through ecdysis. |
 In the video you will be able to see this larva make some initial ecdysis movements. It will eventually split along the dorsal midline (blue dotted line). |
 This larva has just finished ecdysis and is now a pupa. Insects are pupae after ecdysis. |
 This larva is in most of the way through ecdysis. The blue arrows in the bottom 3 figure point to the cast-off larval cuticle. |
 This larva is just finishing. |
